Euro 2020: Group B

So it is time for group B for the upcoming Euro 2020.

Group B: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Russia

Belgium

Currently sitting at number 1 spot at FIFA World ranking. A team filled with so much quality that it is impossible to with all the talent into 11 starting spots. Players from Real Madrid, Manchester City, Leicester, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund. Superstars like Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Azar, Thibaut Courtois and many more. Led by Roberto Martinez with Thierry Henry as his assistant, “The red devils” will be hungry for glory. They won the bronze medals 3 years ago and are definitely one of the favorites in the tournament. They should easily win the group and advance further.

Denmark

“The red dynamite” has always been a team to comply with. A hard to beat team as Croatia understood in Russia 3 years ago. Well organized mix of experienced players and young talent. Players like Kasper Schmeichel, Simon Kjaer, the newly crowned CL winner Andreas Christensen, Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite are just few of the names that manager Kasper Hjulmand will rely on. And Cristian Eriksen is a player who can make a dangerous situation out of nothing. Denmark are used to shocking Europe, they did it in 1992 when called from the beaches they won the European championship. Will probably battle over the 2nd spot in the group with Russia.

Finland

“The eagle-owls” will make their debut at the Euros this summer. They are not famous with their football, they never played Euros or World cup. But this can only motivate them to do well on their debut. Relatively unknown players with their biggest stars being Teemo Puki. The Norwich striker got a name for himself in the last few seasons in both Premier league and Championship. Physically strong team, they love using set pieces to put pressure on the opposition team. Definitely the underdog in the group and will be a big shock if they progress.

Russia

Russia is definitely a team on the rise. After they hosted the World cup in 2018 their team is doing better and better. Let’s not forget they beat Spain in the quarters of that World cup. Most of the players are part of the local “Premier liga”. They are spread among the grands there: Lokomotiv, Zenit, Spartak, Dinamo, CSKA. Players know each other very well, very experienced team. Led by Stanislav Cherchesov Russia won’t give up easy and will be danger for every opponent. As I already said they will probably fight Denmark for the 2nd spot in the group.
